Nechako Outdoors started life as Omineca Sports in Vanderhoof in the 1970s. In April 2014, a move to a larger store was done and the new location was renamed Nechako Outdoors, named after the region’s Nechako River which ties Vanderhoof and Prince George together.
Showcasing thousands of products, including hunting, fishing, camping, as well as outdoor clothing, Nechako Outdoors delivers quality merchandise, great prices and premier customer service. Our passion is the outdoors, just like our customers.
About Our Vanderhoof Location
Vanderhoof is the geographical center of the province. The Nechako River flows through town, and because this area is known for its bird sanctuaries, many Canada Geese, swans, and other migratory birds pass through the area during their annual migration.
The Nechako is home to a number of fish species, including salmon and sturgeon, while many hunters come to Vanderhoof in search of moose, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, and black bear, not to mention the world class waterfowl hunting.
